Thanks Dan. I enjoy this Friday email. Also wanted to thank you for your inauguration week meditations. Your guests were so wonderful. It reminded me of your live afternoon sessions during Covid. A great gift to all of us and made us feel that we were not alone. If you ever have doubts about your career choice remind yourself of all the people you have touched through your endeavors. Namaste. What happened to the Wednesday meditation link with Sharon McMahon? I never got to listen. I loved the podcasts and the first lives you did. Thank you. Please resend the link for Thursdays.
P.S. Are you familiar with the yoga teacher Judith Hanson Lasater? I've been a student of hers for years, and this month I am taking her six-part Zoom course on non-violent communication. Four sessions in, I've already benefitted so much from the course, mainly because it is grounded in self-empathy. I would love to hear you interview her on the podcast!
Dan, thank you for everything you and your team does. This week's inauguration meditations were especially helpful. I've listened to the recording of Van Jones about a half-dozen times already-- so many insights. Watching you and Sharon McMahon wing it when the tech-magic enabling these broadcasts failed was a great lesson in having compassion for self and others. And then wouldn't you know it, you've got a chat on the books with Kristin Neff! AND another banger of a cat video!
As someone who is 50% French - grew up with a french mother - and who has watched a lot of french films - the description of le Chambre Rouge pretty much sums up the French film genre. They are cerebral, and usually much deeper than we are used to in American cinema. From Le Balon Rouge (Red Balloon) to Diva to Jean De Florette and its sequel Manon Des Sources (both truly awesome films), you have to have a certain appreciation for intellectual denoument (unfolding) of story lines and characters - I love them, but not everyone does.
Dan, you are helping so many people! I have a suggestion for a topic to address regarding New Year’s resolutions: cutting down on alcohol! I know you said you don’t drink, and your guest about exercise and the brain chooses not to drink. Many of us are not ready for that big of a step, but definitely need help with being disciplined on cutting back a bit. What do you think?
One of my two cats started chewing on the head of my electric toothbrush shortly after I adopted him. I now remove the toothbrush head when I'm done brushing to avoid this!! 😂😂😂

Many years ago (he’s now 12) I discovered my toddler son was helping by using my electric toothbrush to clean the toilet…….
I guess kitty likes the taste of toothpaste and all other kinds of biofilm on toothbrushes. I think it is very cute though!🤣
Thank you for your kind and caring soul. I compare you to Letterman after 911. Compassion doing what you do is much needed.
SO not my cat owning worst nightmare. One word - PEROXIDE - ha ha
