Happy Friday, my fellow suffering beings. Each week, I share two things I’m digging right now—books, TV shows, movies, music, and the like—plus one online video with nearly zero cultural merit.
Super/man. In theaters (and coming to Max). This new documentary about Christopher Reeve is extremely well-told. It’s a by turns wrenching, riveting, and funny retelling of the Superman actor’s story, both before and after the accident that left him paralyzed. I was particularly moved by the parts featuring Reeve’s youngest son, Will, a friend and former ABC News colleague of mine. In the film, Will talks about what it’s like to lose both parents at a young age and how he has always felt alone in the world. Gut punch.
The Copyrights. For something much lighter, check out the catchy punk stylings of this Illinois band. They have a new EP, New Ghosts, for which only half the songs have been released. I also like their 2021 LP, Alone in a Dome.
This dog.

The dog just cracked me up. Thanks for sharing, Dan.
Crikey, that dog is quite the thing.
