I am in tears about the theme of today’s meditation. Yesterday (no pun intended), as a friend reached out about Garth Brooks singing ‘Imagine’ at President Carter’s funeral, he shared with me how his genuine cynicism was melted by that moment. Instantly, the song ‘Let It Be’ came to my mind as a theme of where I need to be. Along with a link to Lucinda Williams new version of the song, I shared back with him the following: These are times, not unlike the past, when it is tough to not be cynical. The challenge is if we can let it be so that we can simply BE. ✌️
What a meaningful connection! I recently found out about the death of a friend's son. I don't know for sure but I'm quite certain that he took his own life. I was in such despair yesterday and put on a Jack Kornfield meditation. At the end of The meditation he prompts the listener to look for the message that they heard while meditating. The message I heard in my mind was, "Let it be". Mind you this was yesterday before this post and, Scott, your comment! There's a message in there for sure!
This was great. I love the thought of let it be to help me stop resisting what is but had not thought about it as a way to also visualize your intentions and hopes.
Anyone else find that the Beatles song let it be was playing in their mind through this meditation? 🤣
Today’s meditation reminded me of my father, who sometimes said “Leave it be” about things he thought shouldn’t be disturbed. As an active kid, I might want to chase a bird, or pull at a dead branch, and he’d often calmly say leave it be. His tone helped me be present, and I haven’t thought about that in years. Thank you
Thank you, Sebene and Dan. This meditation came at just the right time - I'm dealing with an illness that substantially limits my energy yet really need to find or create a work opportunity. It was lovely to sit with both the realism of letting the current situation be and also having hope that the future can be positive as well.
The beautiful and simple profundity of this phrase. The memory of the song. Sebene’s simple meditation. A huge mind shifter and heart lifter for me at a crucial time. Thank you❤️
THANK YOU, Sebene! You are beautiful inside and out and you make the world and everyone who comes within your reach more beautiful with every encounter! Sending Metta, gratitude and much love!
Also sending gratitude to the whole 10% crew who makes all this possible.
These topics for the New Year’s meditation 🧘♀️ challenge, have been SPOT ON. Today’s “Let It Be” is a great reminder to SELF. Thank You to All involved.
Your Friday fixations are off to an awesome start! Going to look for that book and can’t wait to watch the Beatles documentary. Right up my music alley. YouTube video was hilarious. Made me think of when I was stationed in the Philippines and some sailors had to go the clinic we termed, “Mr. Green Jeans clinic.” Yep, 61 year old navy broad digressing. Ahhh memories. 😂😂😂😂
May not be meditation but was mindful on my walk into my office this morning…I’ll take it as part of my meditation challenge. Ready! Set! SIT…or…WALK. IPMF.
Thank you Sebene, this was a game changer for me today and going forward. The content you share continues to be something I look forward to and appreciate every day Dan, thank you. One thing I’ld like to share for fans of documentaries, Norm’s Guitars on Netflix was excellent on several levels. Well worth the time! Have a great Saturday everyone !
the meditation instruction to "let go" always felt contrived and when I hear it I find myself having to conceptualize it as "ease the grip" as opposed to "nudge away", but that clarification that I have to do each time is exhausting. so, I appreciated Sebene's guidance here to "let be". a light allowing. just saying it, I notice my shoulders drop.

It’s wild how the universe works. ✌️

Thanks to Sebene! And thank you again, Dan🙏🏼📿
Imagine ALWAYS gets to me. And I was never a Beatles fan.... Dunno why, but now I will give it a go. Thx Dan.

Let it be. I will say. Love walking with that phrase too. Thank you again.
