How to be vulnerable + why I like Buddhism + an update on my next book

Watch my first live video AMA

I asked you to ask me anything. And you didn’t hold back.

Over 1,000 of you joined me on my first live video AMA yesterday afternoon. We covered a lot of ground: how and when to be vulnerable; how to send loving-kindness to yourself; the balance between altruism and ambition; how a beginner can learn more about Buddhism; why my next book is taking forever. And more.

Since I know many of you couldn’t make it— and some of you were booted early because of a tech glitch—I am sharing the full, one hour recording here.

Apropos of the tech glitch, I want to repeat that I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for hanging in there through all the little hiccups during the first nine days of this new project’s life. I know some of you are still having trouble navigating Substack, so we have a little how-to video heading your way soon.

From my perspective, the AMA was awesome. My only regret is that there were so many excellent questions that I couldn’t get to. So I’ll be doing another one next month. And the month after that…

Next week, however, I’m going to use Substack‘s live streaming feature in a different way. On Tuesday, September 24th at 11:30 ET, I’ll set up a camera while I meditate, and invite you to sit with me. No guidance. No frills. Just an experiment in the potential carpool lane benefits of group meditation. I plan to make this a regular thing.

One last note: Going forward, access to live AMAs and meditations will be a paid subscriber benefit, along with the ability to comment on posts, participate in the chat, and read the cheatsheets for each new podcast episode (which come with a list of key takeaways, time-coded highlights, and a full transcript).

Thanks again for showing up.

IPMF.
