Sylvia Plath's ability to take you along into the madness in The Bell Jar is incredible. I read it young, and it was one of the first books that made me realize one of the hallmarks of incredible writing is somehow getting the reader all in on something that normally wouldn't make any sense.
Awesome, not a huge nirvana fan, but am a huge music fan. Too often we overlook the people "behind the music" (producers, sound engineers, etc.) who use more than just the ears to listen to music, often making it subjectively better.
I've never read The Bell Jar either, and I love to read, adding it to my list as well! And I'm always fascinated at the "behind the scenes" on anything. Especially when it comes to art and creativity.
The Bell Jar, it’s a bit about the madness of having to find a way to make a living, isn’t it? But I might be wrong, I read it a long time ago. That’s an interesting topic for me. I find that a capitalist system doesn’t offer many good options in that respect. It can also feel anti-introvert and encourage all of us to become salespeople. I always felt like the most interesting careers come with a ton competition, and very little pay and security. As well as a lot of skills required.

Just purchased the book thanks for the heads up

Thanks!
Read Bell Jar years ago and loved it. Always loved Nirvana and will check out the Aaron Hernandez story. Thanks for the tip on that.
Maybe I can "double track" my life, and it would sound better.
😄
Picked up The Bell Jar…it’s been on my book list for aaaages!
I have added the Bell Jar to my reading list. Looking forward to it since I live in NY!

Thank you for "The Bell Jar". Just downloaded on Kindle...it was my era in NY. Cannot wait to read this. Have a great weekend.
Just curious Dan, when in the heck do you find time to read?
Always appreciate your suggestions. 😊
The Butch Vig video is great. Rick Beato has a nice interview with Butch about the recording of Nevermind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGvAjp1-Cy0
The reviews on Goodreads about the book are definitely worth exploring. One review said to make sure you get past the first two pages.
I love The Bell Jar so much. It helped me through such a rough time in my early 20s

I loved the Bell Jar, great book! Maybe I should read it again. Big fan of Nirvana so it was fun to watch this video. Not much of a sports fan though.
Do you still have Harry Quint’s garden gnome?
